The Southeastern Conference Baseball Tournament starts today in Hoover, Alabama with four games on tap.
Opening the tournament this morning will be second seed Arkansas, the winner of the SEC West, facing seven seed Alabama. The second game has three seed Florida facing six seed Mississippi State and WRUF Sports Radio 850 will have live coverage of the game 30 minutes after the conclusion of Game 1 that starts at 10:30am eastern time.
At 5:30pm eastern time, top seed South Carolina faces eight seed Auburn and the night game has four seed Vanderbilt facing five seed Georgia.
It should be an interesting tournament but it looks like Georgia and Auburn have the most to gain or lose here. Georgia must win three games to qualify for an NCAA Regional possibility and Auburn must win one. A program has to finish above the .500 mark to qualify for an NCAA Regional.
Most believe that South Carolina, Florida, Vanderbilt and Arkansas have NCAA Regional sites locked up but the first three of those teams are also wanting a top eight national seed so they could be assured of hosting a regional and a super regional if they continue to advance.
