The University of Florida softball team is going back to the College World Series for the fourth straight time after the Gators won an NCAA Regional they hosted, beating Oregon 7-0 Saturday.
Florida swept the NCAA Regional in two straight games, dominating the Ducks with solid hitting, defense and pitching. By winning, the Gators reserve another trip to Oklahoma City, trying to win their first NCAA championship.
Freshman Hannah Rogers was sharp in the circle and got the win for Florida and the Gator offense helped her quickly and often in the game as well. Florida outscored Oregon 16-1 in the regional.
The entire field is now set for the Collge World Series. Fourth seed Florida will play five seed Missouri on Thursday after the Tigers beat Washington in a Super Regional. Alabama is the only other SEC team that advances. The others in are Baylor, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Arizona State and Cal.
