The University of Florida baseball team is a number two national seed for the upcoming NCAA Regionals with teams announced today.
Virginia is the number one national seed and the Cavaliers will host Navy, St.Johns and East Carolina in their regional.
Florida will host Manhattan, Miami and Jacksonville University. The Gators will open play against Manhattan on Friday.
South Carolina, Vanderbilt and Florida State are also among the top eight national seeds. The Gamecocks will host Georgia Southern, NC State and Stetson; Vandy hosts Belmont, Troy and Oklahoma State and FSU hosts Alabama, Bethune Cookman and UCF.
Florida International is also in the field, heading to North Carolina along with James Madison and Maine.
From the SEC, Arkansas is in, going to Arizona State to face the Sun Devils, New Mexico and Charlotte. Georgia also travels to Oregon State to face the Beavers, Arkansas Little Rock and Creighton. Mississippi State is in the Georgia Tech Regional along with the Yellow Jackets, Austin Peay and Southern Mississippi and this is the regional that will match up with the Gainesville regional. A total of seven SEC teams are in the field.
One of them however is not LSU; the Tigers did not get an invite after not making the SEC Tournament this year.
