Bruins Win First Stanley Cup Since 1972 With Win Over Canucks

The Boston Bruins are Stanley Cup champions for the first time since 1972 after beating the Vancouver Canucks 4-0 at Vancouver.

Goalie Tim Thomas was outstanding in net for the Bruins, making 37 saves to help the Bruins get the win.

Meanwhile Patrice Bergeron and rookie Brad Marchand each scored two goals as Boston becomes the first team in NHL history to win Game 7 three times in the same postseason.

Vancouver has still not won a Stanley Cup.
