Strasburg Makes Successful Comeback For Nats

The Washington Nationals organization must be very happy today after its ace pitcher Stephen Strasburg made a successful comeback from Tommy John surgery on Tuesday.

The righthander went five shutout innings and said he felt no pain but his team could not hold the lead and Los Angeles beat the Nationals 7-3.

In other National League action, Houston downs Pittsburgh 4-1; Colorado tops Arizona 8-3; San Francisco beats San Diego 6-4 to move within six games of the D’Backs in the NL West. St. Louis downs Milwaukee 4-2; Philadelphia beats Atlanta 6-3; New York downs Florida 7-4 and Cincinnati beats Chicago 4-2.

In the American League, Boston rips Toronto 12-0 as Jon Lester wins his 15th game. Detroit hammers Detroit 10-1; Texas downs Tampa Bay 8-0; Chicago blanks Minnesota 3-0; Seattle nips Los Angeles 2-1 and New York beats Baltimore 5-3 and Kansas City beats Oakland 7-4.
