  • The NFL trading deadline is today and the St.Louis Rams have acquired Denver Broncos wide receiver Brandon Lloyd for a low round draft choice. Lloyd, the league’s leading receiver last season, is lost to new Denver starting quarterback Tim Tebow.
  • The Oakland Raiders reached out to quarterback David Garrard to replace injured quarterback Jason Campbell but Garrard says he is going to have back surgery.
  • While the NFL will not fine coaches Jim Harbaugh and Jim Schwartz for their after game handshakes and aftermath, the SEC says it its going to look into what happened at the end of the Vanderbilt-Georgia game when there was a nasty exchange between Vandy head coach James Franklin and Georgia defensive coordinator Todd Grantham.
  • The NBA, trying to salvage its season, will have its players and management meet with federal mediators today. If no agreement is reached, the NBA season could be delayed until after Christmas.
