Rangers Go Up 3-2 In World Series

Red hot Mike Napoli hit a tie breaking two rbi double in the eighth inning off a pitcher who he probably should not have faced as the Texas Rangers beat the St.Louis Cardinals 4-2 to go three games to two in the World Series with Game 6 going to St.Louis on Wednesday.

Napoli hit his double against lefty Marc Rzepczynski when baseball strategy called for a righthander to face the righty hitting Napoli. The score was tied at 2-2 with the bases loaded when Napoli stepped in but it was reported that when Cardinals manager Tony LaRussa called for a righthander the bullpen phone did not work. So, no righty was even loose for LaRussa to go to when Napoli came up to hit with the bases loaded and he made the Cardinals pay for the mistake.

Instead, the lefty stayed in and Napoli hit his double that gave the Rangers the win. Napoli could be the MVP of the Series, especially if the Rangers go on to win it.
