ESPN.com reports today that former Gator football coach Urban Meyer has accepted the head coaching job at Ohio State.
The website quotes Meyer’s agent, former Gator player Trace Armstrong, as the one who confirmed the hiring.
Meyer left Florida a season ago saying he had health issues and that he wanted to spend more time with his family. He accepted a job at ESPN covering college football and also serving as an analyst on many of ESPN’s college football games and broadcasts.
Media reports earlier stated that Meyer had agreed to a seven year deal to coach the Buckeyes who finished the regular season at 6-6 under first year coach Luke Fickell. There are rumors also that Ohio State and Florida could play in the Gator Bowl this year as well.
