By WRUF Staff on November 29th, 2011

The Florida men’s basketball team gave coach Billy Donovan his 400th career win by beating Stetson 96-70 Monday night in Orlando. Donovan becomes the youngest active coach (46 years old) to have won 400 games.

As for the game itself, the Gators continued their high scoring ways and beat the Hatters for the 17th straight time. Freshman Bradley Beal continues to play well for Florida, scoring 22 points while grabbing 10 rebounds and senior guard Erving Walker chipped in with 21 points.

Once again the Gators outrebound an opponent, winning the board battle 43-37. And for the sixth straight game, the Gators had 10 or more three point shots as they hit 14 of 35 attempts in the game.

Florida will next play nationally ranked Syracuse on Friday.

Meanwhile the Florida women’s basketball team is off to a nice start to the season and it will try to continue that with a game tonight against Belmont. Florida has started the season 5-1 while Belmont enters the game at just 1-5 so far this year.
