Former Gator Coach Ross Named Coach Of WNBA's LA Sparks

Former University of Florida women’s basketball coach Carol Ross has been named the new head coach of the Los Angeles Sparks of the WNBA.

The announcement was made today and Ross is scheduled to be part of a press conference this afternoon.

Ross coached at Florida from 1990 to 2002 before resigning and she then worked as an analyst on television game broadcasts. Later, she returned to her alma mater, Ole Miss, as head coach from 2003-2007, guiding the team to an Elite Eight appearance in the NCAA Tournament.

For the past couple of seasons she has been assistant coach with the WNBA’s Atlanta Dream.
