The New York Giants are Super Bowl champions today after knocking off the New England Patriots 21-17 Sunday in Indianapolis.
The Giants become the first team ever to finish 9-7 in the regular season to win a Super Bowl and also become the first team with a negative point differential during the season to win a Super Bowl as well. But all that does not matter as the Giants beat the Patriots for the second time in four years in a Super Bowl.
New York quarterback Eli Manning was the game MVP after throwing for 296 yards and helping his team erase a 17-9 third quarter deficit.
Running back Ahmad Bradshaw scored on a six yard run with 57 seconds left and the Giants held on to get the win.
New York led early 9-3 but the Patriots put together a solid first half ending touchdown drive to take a 10-9 halftime lead. They increased it to 17-9 with a touchdown in the third quarter but those points were the last they would get on the night.
