Busy Weekend In Gator Sports Comes To A Close

It’s a new week in Gator athletics but a lot happened this past weekend for just about every Gator fan of a Gator sport.

The Gator men’s tennis team drops a 4-3 decision to SEC rival Georgia but the Gator women beat Georgia by the same score.

The Florida lacrosse team lost in overtime to Syracuse while the Florida softball team finishes 6-0 for the week after winning all five games in its Lipton Invitational held in Gainesville this weekend.

The top ranked Florida gymnastics team edged Nebraska on the road on Sunday, coming from behind in the floor exercise to win the meet.

And the Gator men’s basketball team now prepares for the SEC Tournament on Friday against either Alabama or South Carolina after losing to number one Kentucky on Sunday.

This week’s action will begin with Gator baseball as it hosts Florida Atlantic on Tuesday at 7pm in a game you can hear on WRUF Sports Radio 850.
