Gator Women’s Hoops Wins NCAA Tournament Game

The Florida women’s basketball team has advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament after beating Ohio State 70-65 Sunday.

Florida led by double digits early but most of the game went back and forth but the Gators always maintained a lead.   However, Ohio State at one point closed to 65-63 but would geet no closer.

The Gators hit nine 3 point shots in the game and were led in scoring by post player Jennifer George who scores 16 points.   Guard Lanita Bartley chipped in with 15 points as Florida with the win reaches the 20 win mark on the season.

The Gators advance to a second round game at Bowling Green State University against the number one overall seed in the tournament, Baylor, on Tuesday.
