Florida Baseball Looks To End Ten Game Homestand On Positive Note

The number one ranked Gators baseball team will look to extend its 17-game win streak when they take on the Samford Bulldogs tonight. The win streak is the longest for the Gators in school history. Also, just as impressive is a 16-1 record at home and a 7-1 mark against ranked opponents. In Florida’s last series, the team opened up SEC play by sweeping the Vanderbilt Commadores 10-2, 5-1 and 8-2.

With all the recent success, Florida shouldn’t sleep on Samford. The team has a winning record at 13-7 with a 4-2 mark in Southern Confernce play.   A couple of those wins came last weekend as the team took their SoCon series against Furman two games to one.

Starting on opposite mounds will be Lex Rutledge for Samford who is 0-1 on the season with a 12.15 ERA and for Florida freshman righty Johnny Magliozzi gets the nod with a 1-0 record with a 5.19 ERA.

To listen to the game, make sure to tune into Country 103.7 the Gator starting at 7pm.
