Florida Gymnastics Eyeing SEC Title

The top ranked Florida gymnastics team will compete in the SEC championships this Saturday in Duluth, Georgia. Five of the seven SEC teams in the championships currently rank in the nation’s top ten which include number one Florida, number four Alabama, number five Georgia, number nine Arkansas, and number ten LSU.

The Gators finished their regular season 5-1 against the SEC and 11-1 overall. The Gators wrapped up their season with a win over number seven Utah last Friday in the O’Connell Center as a tune up for the SEC’s.

Florida Head Coach Rhonda Faehn says the Gators are ready to make the most of another opportunity to claim the SEC crown.

Coach Faehn says the team will have to display some poise in order to have a good showing this weekend.

The Gators will look to improve upon their finish in last year’s SEC championship when Florida finished second to the Alabama Crimson Tide.  The Gators have won seven SEC titles with the most recent one back in 2010. The meet starts at 4:00 on Saturday.
