UF Posts First Ever Shutout, Bludgeons Fresno St. 29-0

Missing offensive contributors Kitty Cullen, Brittany Dashiell and Shannon Gilroy, it’s natural to expect the Florida Gators might have struggled to put up points in Wednesday night’s contest against Fresno St.

But oh, how they scored.

Freshman Nicole Graziano, Nora Berry and Taylor McCord stepped up in a huge way, combining for 17 points (15 goals), and the defense banded together to post the first ever shutout in UF  lacrosse history, pushing the team to 11-2 on the season. Gators head coach Amanda O’Leary says it’s been a long time coming.

The Gators converted on an impressive 17 of their 23 shots in the first half, and continued to pile it on in the second half, taking a total of 44 shots in the game. Post-game, O’Leary was still very unsure of Cullen, Dashiell and Gilroy’s availability for their next game on Sunday.

The Gators continue ALC play on Sunday, when they host Penn St. Opening draw is set for 1pm.
