Baseball: Florida/South Florida Showdown Tonight

The top ranked team in the country looks to add another win to its nine game homestand when Florida faces in state foe USF (27-14) tonight.

The game can be heard on WRUF Sports Radio 850 AM at 7:oo PM.  If you can’t catch the game on the radio, check out a live stream on this very site or download the iPhone app right here under the listen live tab at the top of the screen.

The Gators (31-9) come into the matchup having beaten the Bulls 12 straight times, including an 8-1 rout last year in Tampa.  Not only did Florida defeat USF at their home stadium, but the Gators also swept the Bulls in a three game homestand last season as well.

Overall, the Gators have dominated the Bulls, holding a 53-23 mark over the in-state rival.

Looking into head to head statistics on the season, Florida is hitting .289 on the year, while South Florida is at .263.  In fact, Florida has a statistical edge over the Bulls in most every major category when comparing the teams.

Both teams will probably throw a lot of arms tonight and starters for the game will not be determined until right before game time.
