UF’s Moultrie SEC Softball Player Of Year

University of Florida senior softball player Michelle Moultrie has been named the SEC Player of the Year for 2012.  The league made the announcement today on the eve of the SEC Tournament which starts Thursday.

Moultrie leads the SEC in hitting and is 10th nationally in runs scored per game; she becomes the fourth Gator player to win this award.  She is the only Gator to make the All-SEC First Team as well.

Named to the All-SEC second team is Gator pitcher Hannah Rogers and Florida catcher Kelsey Horton.   Florida had four players on the All-SEC Freshman Team in pitcher Alyssa Bache, infielders Sami Fagan and Lauren Haeger and outfielder Jessica Damico.

Florida opens play in the SEC Tournament Thursday against LSU.
