By on May 22nd, 2012

The Orlando Magic are looking for a new coach and a new general manager today, headlining our Tuesday Sports News And Notes…

** The Orlando Magic have fired head coach Stan Van Gundy after five seasons and general manager Otis Smith also will not return.   This coming in the wake of the Magic still not knowing if star center Dwight Howard will stay long term with the team as his contract expires after next season.

** The New Jersey Devils even the NHL’s Eastern Conference Finals at 2-2 after beating the New York Rangers 4-1.   Tonight, the Los Angeles Kings can close out the Phoenix Coyotes with a road win; the Kings lead the Western Conference Final 3-1.

** Former West Virginia football coach Bill Stewart has died from an apparent heart attack; he was 59 years old.   Stewart took over for the dismissed Rich Rodriguez and went 9-3 in three straight seasons before leaving the school in a messy departure.
