Johnson To Get Start On Mound For Gators Against Carolina In CWS

Gator baseball coach Kevin O’Sullivan announced that lefty Brian Johnson will get the start Saturday in Florida’s first College World Series game in 2012 against two time defending national champion South Carolina.

And perhaps because it is Carolina that Florida is playing is specifically why Johnson is getting the start as opposed to normal first game starter Hudson Randall.

Johnson has been very effective against the Gamecocks recently, allowing only four runs in 15 innings pitched.

The Gamecocks will start Michael Roth, their normal first game starter, against the Gators in Omaha.

The two teams play tomorrow night and you can hear all the action live on Country 103-7 The Gator starting at 8:50pm.
