Larson Not On Scholarship For Gator Basketball

Both the Gator men’s and women’s basketball teams had their annual “Media Days” on Wednesday.

Gator men’s coach Billy Donovan revealed that forward Cody Larson is no longer on scholarship because he did not take care of some responsibilities on and off the court; however, Larson is staying on the team as a walk on.

Florida now has 13 scholarship players with two of those going to players who cannot play this year because of the NCAA transfer rule in Damontre Harris and Dorian Finney-Smith.

Florida comes off back to back Elite Eight appearances in the NCAA Tournament and much is expected from this year’s team which returns veteran players like guard Kenny Boynton, center Patric Young, guard Scottie Wilbekin and forward Casey Prather.   A group of talented freshman guards also give the team more depth this year as well.
