Verlander Pitches Tigers Over Yankees In ALCS; NLCS Resumes Tonight

Detroit pitcher Justin Verlander pitches into the ninth inning at home Tuesday night to lead the Tigers to a 2-1 win over the New York Yankees and to a commanding 3-0 lead in the American League Championship Series.

Verlander gets the win and got help with rbi hits from Miguel Cabrera, who doubled in a run, and Delmon Young who homered.   Game 4 is tonight in Detroit; you can hear the game live on ESPN Radio 850/900 starting at 7pm.

This afternoon, the NLCS continues with Game 3 as St.Louis hosts San Francisco with the series tied 1-1.   The Cardinals send righty Kyle Loehse to the mound and he will face Matt Cain for the Giants.
