** Alabama still leads the BCS standings after a narrow victory over LSU last week. Unbeaten Kansas State is number two and Oregon leaps Notre Dame for the number three spot. Georgia, Florida and LSU are next in line.
** Jimmie Johnson beats Brad Keselowski to maintain a seven point lead over Keselowski in the Chase For The Cup. NASCAR moves to Phoenix to race with only two more races left.
** Kentucky has dismissed head football coach Joker Phillips. The Wildcats have not had an SEC winning record since 1977 and this past weekend Kentucky was pasted 40-0 at home by Vanderbilt and the team has won only one game.
** The Gator football team plays Louisiana-Lafayette in its Homecoming game this Saturday with kickoff at 12:20pm.
** And both Gator basketball teams kick off their seasons this Friday. The Gator women are at home and the Gator men face nationally ranked Georgetown on an aircraft carrier in Jacksonville.
