** The New Orleans Saints improve to 3-5 on the year after ripping the Philadelphia Eagles at home 28-13. Both teams are now 3-5 and the Eagles have lost four straight.
** The NHL season, already postponed by a lockout, at least will have some hope of resuming as the players and the owners are scheduled to meet again.
** Fired Kentucky football coach Joker Phillips will coach the team’s last two games. The Wildcats are 1-9 on the year.
** Speaking of Kentucky, Gator offensive coordinator Brent Pease used to coach there and there are some linking his name to the job made vacant with the dismissal of Phillips. Gator coach Will Muschamp said he would endorse Pease leaving for a head coaching spot.
