The locked out NHL players talk with owners, the Orlando Magic lose their first NBA game of the year and more in our Wednesday Sports News And Notes…

** The NHL and its locked out players met for a lengthy negotiating session Tuesday and agreed to meet again today in an attempt to start the NHL season.

** The Chicago Bulls give the Orlando Magic their first loss of the season with a 99-93 win in Chicago.   Former Gator Joakim Noah had 20 points and nine rebounds for the Bulls in the win.

** In college football Ball State upsets 25th ranked Toledo 34-27 Tuesday night scoring thre winning touchdown on an 86 yard drive.

** The Big 12-SEC Bowl game will be hosted by New Orleans and be called the Sugar Bowl.   An agreement was announced yesterday.

** Buchholz, Cornerstone Academy, Santa Fe, and St. Francis are local high school volleyball teams that win regional semifinal matches on Tuesday.
