No. 16 Gators Volleyball Travels To Missouri And Ole Miss This Weekend

The Florida volleyball team (19-4, 13-1 SEC) will hit the road this weekend, making stops at Missouri Friday, and Ole Miss on Sunday.

The 16th ranked Gators are coming off a loss against Tennessee at home on Sunday, when the Volunteers handed Florida it’s first conference loss of the season. The game was won by the away team in five sets, with Tennessee earning the victory in a win-by-two situation.

Florida looks to get back on track this weekend when they invade Tigers and Rebels territory. The Gators earned sweeps over both teams in their previous meetings this season.

Coming off a loss and being on the road puts the Gators in a challenging situation, as head coach Mary Wise looks to put her team back on track.

One of those reliable leaders is senior middle blocker Betsy Smith. Although Smith probably doesn’t like to lose, she says the defeat against Tennessee as well as at Florida State earlier in the season are good learning moments.

Smith and the rest hope to return to Gainesville next week with two more W’s on the schedule.
