Women’s Basketball Hosts Fairfield Friday In Season Opener

The Gator women’s basketball team opens its season tomorrow when they host Fairfield in the O’Dome.  Gator head coach Amanda Butler says the team is anxious to get out on the court.

The team returns two starters from last year’s NCAA Tournament team in senior Jennifer George and junior Jaterra Bonds.  Butler says Bonds’ experience is irreplaceable on this young Gator team.

Florida acquired an influx of new players, including 6’7” transfer Vicky McIntyre out of Oklahoma State.  Butler says the starting lineup will be finalized later in the week.

With Game Week full on Butler says the team has taken on a more serious tone.

Butler adds that this year’s goal is maintain the intensity throughout entire games.

Tip off is set for 4pm from the O’Connell Center.
