LSU Loses, Vandy Wins In College Bowl Action; More Games Tuesday

The amazing season for the Vanderbilt Commodores continued Monday as the Commodores win their ninth game of the year by beating North Carolina State 38-24 in the Music City Bowl.  Vandy (9-4) has its best season since 1915 as quarterback Jordan Rodgers throws two touchdown passes and runs for another.

LSU ends its season on a down note, losing to Clemson 25-24 in the Chick-Fil-A Bowl in Atlanta.   The Tigers kick a 37 yard field goal as time expires to get the win but LSU has itself to blame in part, giving up a fourth and 16 on the final drive to keep it alive for Clemson.

Georgia Tech beat USC 21-7 in the Sun Bowl and Tulsa hammers Iowa State 31-17 in the Liberty Bowl.

Today a slew of games featuring a lot of SEC teams.   The Gator Bowl has Mississippi State facing Northwestern; the Outback Bowl has South Carolina taking on Michigan and the Capital One Bowl has Georgia facing Nebraska.

Other bowl games today include the Heart of Dallas Bowl with Purdue and Oklahoma State and two big time traditional bowls with the Rose Bowl featuring Wisconsin and Stanford and the Orange Bowl with upstart Northern Illinois facing Florida State.
