Gator Women’s Hoops Opens SEC Play At Number Six Kentucky Tonight

The Florida women’s basketball team opens SEC play tonight when it travels to face sixth ranked Kentucky, coached by former Gator assistant Matthew Mitchell.

Florida (11-3) has won six in a row and Kentucky (12-1) has won 11 in a row with its only loss coming to defending national champion Baylor.

Last year, Florida lost three times to the Wildcats but by a combined total of only 12 points.   The meetings for the most part were low scoring, physical contests and many expect the same type of game tonight in Lexington.

Florida will play its SEC home opener Sunday when LSU comes to Gainesville.
