The Gainesville High School auditorium was packed today as four of its star football players signed their letters of intent to play at their prospective schools.
Wide receiver Chris Thompson, who signed with the University of Florida, has known for a while that he would be attending UF in the fall. However, he will never forget the day he received his official offer from the Gators.
Joining Thompson at the University of Florida is wide receiver Case Harrison, who will be a walk on at UF. He feels will make him motivated to work harder.
While Thompson and Harrison are headed to the University of Florida, their teammate Keith Kelsey Jr. will be joining Florida’s Sugar Bowl rival, Louisville. Kelsey said that it was the coaches that eventually won him over.
Finally, the fourth GHS student didn’t make a verbal commitment until last weekend. Star Running back Rapheal Webb announced that he would be going to Vanderbilt via Twitter. Webb said he is more than ready to head up to Vandy.
All these players helped GHS make it to the state title game this year in its classification.
