The Gator men’s basketball team finds itself in a familiar situation from last year as junior forward Will Yeguete will miss the rest of the regular season. Yeguete also missed time last season due to injury. He will undergo arthroscopic surgery on his right knee Friday morning hoping to be back in time for either the very end of the regular year or the start of postseason. Gator coach Billy Donovan says this has been an ongoing situation and they want to fix the problem before it gets worse.
Despite many injuries so far this season, the Gators are currently 18-3 overall and 8-1 in conference play. Donovan says Yeguete will be a great loss for the team but they are used to missing players.
The Gators play again Saturday at home against Mississippi State. Tip-off is set for 5pm. As always, you can catch all the action right here on ESPN Radio 850/900 starting with pregame coverage at 4:25 pm.
