Finally victorious over the North Carolina Tarheels, the Florida Gator lacrosse team can look ahead to tonight's match against the Jacksonville University Dolphins. The Gators win over the Tarheels was sluggish, hard fought and defensive, but the team rallied from an early three goal deficit. They didn't allow a goal for the next 52 minutes to virtually shut out the Tarheels, defeating them 5-3.
It was Florida's first ever victory over North Carolina in the four year history of its program, but head coach Amanda O'Leary said that it's important for her team not too get caught up in the big victory.
While the Gators sit at 1-0 on the season, Jacksonville has already played two games on the season and is 1-1, with their victory against Vanderbilt 15-7. Coach O'Leary previewed what the Dolphins bring to the table.
Opening draw is set for 7 p.m. tonight from Jacksonville University. You can hear the game live on ESPN Radio 850/900 starting at 6:50 p.m.
