** Lots of Gator sports over the weekend highlighted by Gator softball going unbeaten in its Lipton Invitational as Florida improves to 10-0 on the season. Next up is a tournament in California.
** Not a great weekend for Gator tennis. The No. 2 women fell to No. 4 Duke and the nationally ranked men lose to Washington and Cal.
** The top ranked Gator gymnastics team defeated Georgia on the road Saturday. Next is a home meet with Kentucky on Friday. Lacrosse moved to 3-0 with a 15-7 win over High Point as they get ready for their home opener Wednesday against Stony Brook.
** The Gator women’s basketball team lost at home to Georgia 62-57 to fall to 4-8 in SEC play with four league games left. UF will host Vanderbilt on Thursday.
** Danica Patrick becomes the first woman to win a pole in a Sprint Cup race as she won the pole for this weekend’s Daytona 500 race. Jeff Gordon was second.
** The Rock successfully defended his WWE Championship at Elimination Chamber against former champion CM Punk. This sets the stage at WrestleMania for The Rock vs. John Cena II.
** The NBA All-Star Weekend is history and in the All Star Game MVP Chris Paul had 20 points and 15 assists to lead the West to a 143-138 win over the East.
** The Buchholz women’s basketball team makes its second straight visit to the Final Four after beating Viera in overtime in a regional final over the weekend. The Bobcats will play Tampa Freedom in a Class 7A state semifinal on Friday.
