Though the undefeated season is no longer intact, the Florida Gator lacrosse team (13-1, 1-1 ALC) looks to continue its impressive season on Saturday when they host conference opponent Johns Hopkins in Donald R. Dizney Stadium.
Florida was bested by 10th ranked Penn State 16-11 last weekend at State College, including being outscored 10-2 in the second half. It was certainly a change of pace for the Gators, who had breezed by most of their opposition this season on the way to a 13-0 start, but Gator head coach Amanda O’Leary says it’s important not to look back.
Florida has only three games left in the regular season, one each over the next three weekends, but has to place all their focus first and foremost on Johns Hopkins. Hopkins is led by junior attack Taylor D’Amore with 50 points (23 goals, 27 assists), but O’Leary says the toughest part about the team is their outstanding defense.
Opening draw from Dizney is set for noon on Saturday.
