Following its epic 15 inning win over Nebraska that ended in the early morning hours, the Florida softball team had to come back and play again at noon today against Texas.
Despite a decent pitching effort from Hannah Rogers, it was not enough as Florida loses to Texas 3-0 to be eliminated from the College World Series in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Texas got its runs early on a three run homer in the third inning and the Gator bats could not come back offensively. The Gators did manage to load the bases in the third inning but they could not push across a run and Florida never really threatened after that point.
In fact, the Gators managed just one hit on the day off Texas pitcher Blaire Luna who struck out 14 as well. Florida ends a very successful season with a very young team with a record of 58-9.
