The French Open rolls on, Gator track is at the NCAA’s, and some baseball talk as well in this Thursday Sports News and Notes…

** The French Open rolls on as men’s top seed Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal win matches to set up a match between two of the best players in the world on Friday.  Women’s second seed Maria Sharapova and third seed Victoria Azarenka also advance.

** The Boston Bruins nip the Pittsburgh Penguins in overtime 2-1 to go 3-0 in their NHL Eastern Conference final series.   Los Angeles hosts Chicago tonight, down 2-1 in the Western Conference final.

** The Atlanta Braves stay hot, beating Pittsburgh 5-0 as pitcher Julio Teheran throws eight innings of one hit ball.  The Braves are in Los Angeles tonight.  Philadelphia downs Miami 6-1 for the series sweep; the Marlins are off today.   Tampa Bay blanks Detroit 3-0; the Rays play the Tigers again today.

** The Gator track teams continue competition at the NCAA’s in Eugene, Oregon today.

** Kentucky Derby winner Orb is the early favorite for the Belmont horse race to be run this weekend in New York.
