** LSU is out at the College World Series after losing an elimination game to North Carolina 4-2 Tuesday in Omaha. The Tigers go out in two straight games. UCLA wins a winner’s bracket game 2-1 over NC State as well. Today, an elimination game between Oregon State and Indiana.
** In MLB action, a rare day that sees both the Atlanta Braves and the Tampa Bay Rays lose doubleheaders. Boston beat Tampa Bay 5-1 and 3-1 while the lowly New York Mets swept the Braves 4-3 and 6-1. Arizona nips Miami 3-2.
** Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Finals tonight in Boston as the Bruins host Chicago. Boston is up 2-1 in the series.
** Former Gator pitcher Daniel Gibson will not be back for his senior year as he signs a contract with the Arizona Diamondbacks. Florida may also lose infielder Christian Arroyo, a first round draft choice who is close to signing with San Francisco.
** Wimbledon is right around the corner but this year it will be without five time winner Venus Williams, who withdrew because of a back injury.
