** Wimbledon cranks up in England for the next couple of weeks. It is one of the major championships in tennis.
** Martin Truex Jr. ends a 218 race drought in the winner’s circle when he wins the NASCAR race in California over the weekend. He beats Jeff Gordon and Carl Edwards.
** Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Finals takes place tonight when Boston hosts Chicago; the Blackhawks are up 3-2 and can win the Cup with a victory tonight.
** The finals of the College World Series start tonight as UCLA faces Mississippi State in a best two of three series.
** In MLB action Tampa Bay splits a four game series with the New York Yankees in the Bronx with a 3-1 win Sunday. The Rays start a series at home with red hot Toronto tonight; the Blue Jays have won 11 straight. Atlanta stops Milwaukee 7-4 and Miami tops San Francisco 7-2. The Braves and the Marlins have the night off.
** A number of former and current UF track athletes have qualified for the World Championships to be held in Moscow. Gator track coach Mike Holloway is the head coach for Team USA.
