** Gator men’s basketball coach Billy Donovan and his guard, Michael Frazier II are among those coming home with gold medals today after the USA Under 19 team beats Serbia 82-68 in the finals of the FIBA World Championships held in the Czech Republic.
** Andy Murray wins the men’s singles title at Wimbledon, beating Novak Djokovic to become the first Brit to win men’s singles since 1936. Of course, England is celebrating.
** Major League Baseball’s All-Star game is to be played next week and teams have been announced. However, fans can still put one more player on each team by voting which ends later this week.
** The Atlanta Braves lead in the NL East falls to four games after the Braves lose to Philadelphia 7-3 and second place Washington beats San Diego 11-7. The Braves start a series at home with Miami while Washington is at Philadelphia.
** The Marlins lost at St.Louis 3-2 and were swept in a three game series. The Cardinals caught the Pittsburgh Pirates for first place in the NL Central after the Pirates lose 4-3 to Chicago.
** The Tampa Bay Rays complete a sweep of the Chicago White Sox with a 3-1 win Sunday. David Price has his second straight strong start since coming back from injury to get the win. The Rays host Minnesota tonight.
** The Tour de France continues after the ninth stage was completed Sunday.
