UF Removes Aaron Hernandez Brick From Heavener Complex

By on July 25th, 2013

Workers today removed the brick honoring the accomplishments of former Gator football player Aaron Hernandez, part of a series of actions in which likenesses of Hernandez are being removed from a series of locations on campus.

In a statement released today by UF Sports Information Director Steve McClain, he says in part that UF “put together an immediate plan after the initial news broke to remove his likeness and name in various private and public areas in the facility” and “the plan was to have everything completed before the end of July.”

Hernandez is in jail and charged with murder but he has not been convicted of a crime in the case.
