Four points are all that separated Georgia from a berth in the BCS National Championship game last season. Just as Alabama ruined the hopes of many teams last season, defeating the Bulldogs in the Southeastern Conference Championship game didn’t sit well with Georgia coach Mark Richt.
With a team that finished 12-2, but lost some key members on defense, Richt made his appearance at the 2013 SEC Media Days with a fresh, positive mindset.
Richt says his team isn’t as big, but it is faster and more toned.
Richt says defense could be a weakness but competition comes from anywhere.
With an offense that was prolific last season, Richt says duplicating the success is the goal of the unit.
With practice right around the corner, Richt says he still has a lot to figure out with his team.
Georgia has a difficult opening game, going to Clemson August 31st.
