** The Gator football team continues practice today for its season opener August 31st. (See related story with Will Muschamp comments)
** MLB announced its suspensions for the players involved in the Biogenesis investigation and all of them accepted their punishment except New York Yankee infielder Alex Rodriguez who is appealing his suspension. Until the appeal is heard, he can play and he went 1 for 4 last night in a New York loss to Chicago.
** The Atlanta Braves have now won 11 in a row after beating Washington 3-2 last night. But the Braves are not the only hot team in baseball; the LA Dodgers won their 15th straight road game, 3-2 over St.Louis and Kansas City has won 12 of 13 after drubbing Minnesota 13-0.
** The Tampa Bay Rays can take over first place in the AL East with a win in
Arizona tonight and a Boston loss against Houston. The Astros beat Boston 2-0 yesterday while the Rays were idle; the Miami Marlins start a series with Pittsburgh today.
** Beleaguered quarterback Johnny Manziel is practicing with his Texas A&M teammates amid an investigation into the possibility he signed autographs for pay.
