** The Gator football team got some good news when quarterback Jeff Driskel (injury) and linebacker Antonio Morrison (suspension) returned to practice but also got some bad news when freshman linebacker Matt Rolin re-tore his ACL and he will be lost for the season.
** The NCAA is getting out of the business of selling jerseys immediately according to NCAA president Mark Emmert. ESPN broadcaster Jay Bilas ripped the NCAA in the wake of the Johnny Manziel alleged autograph signings for money and tweeted about the NCAA selling jerseys on its website.
** The Tampa Bay Bucs lose 44-16 to Baltimore in an NFL exhibition game last night. Tonight, Jacksonville hosts Miami and you can hear the game live on ESPN 850 WRUF starting at 6:30pm.
** Former UF pitcher Kevin Chapman is in the big leagues today after being called up by the Houston Astros. The reliever joins Mike Zunino, Paco Rodriguez and Nick Maronde as Kevin O’Sullivan coached Gators who have made it to the big leagues.
** The Atlanta Braves try to extend a 13 game winning streak this weekend when it hosts Miami. Tampa Bay, two games back of Boston in the AL East, is in LA to face the Dodgers.
** The PGA Championship continues all weekend at Oak Hill in Rochester, New York.
