** The Gator football team starts another week of practice, less than three weeks away from opening day.
** Jason Duffner wins his first major championship after winning the PGA Championship Sunday by two shots over Jim Furyk.
** The Tampa Bay Rays are swept at the Los Angeles Dodgers, losing 8-2 last night. The Rays have lost five in a row. Former Gator Mark Ellis homered and drove in three for LA. Meanwhile, Atlanta has won 15 of its last 16 games after beating Miami 9-4. The Marlins start a series in Kansas City while the Rays are off and the Braves host Philadelphia.
** As play begins today in the MLB, the Rays trail Boston by three games in the AL East while the Braves lead the NL East by 14 and a half games. Detroit and Texas are the other division leaders in the AL while the LA Dodgers and Pittsburgh are the other division leaders in the NL.
** Kyle Busch wins the NASCAR race at Watkins Glen, edging out Brad Keselowski. Martin Truex, Jr. finished third.
** Former Gator and current Minnesota Vikings defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd has no knee damage after receiving an MRI. He will get back to practice with the team.
