A crowd estimated at over a thousand people came to the Gator lacrosse facility to watch the Gator football practice on Thursday.
Some observations from staff covering the practice:
** The starting offensive line was, left to right, D.J. Humphries, Max Garcia, Jonotthan Harrison, Tyler Moore and Chaz Green; starter Jon Halapio was out with an injury.
** Freshman wide receiver Demarcus Robinson had a tremendous practice, the standout offensive player of the day arguably. He made some nice catches while running with the first team offensive unit.
** The running back position did not do much, with starter Matt Jones injured there were not a lot of reps here.
** On the other hand, Florida threw the ball a great deal with quarterback Jeff Driskel looking much more in command of the offense and more comfortable running it as well. Some of the veteran receivers like Quinton Dunbar and Trey Burton had nice practices as Driskel spread the ball around to different targets.
Florida’s next open practice will be Saturday morning at 9am in The Swamp as part of Gator Fan Day.
