** The Gator football team will practice today at 12:21pm at the Sanders Practice Facility and the practice is open to the public. Same thing for tomorrow as well.
** The Miami Dolphins lose starting tight end Dustin Keller to various knee injuries and he will miss the season. He got hurt in last weekend’s exhibition game.
** Joey Logano wins the NASCAR race in Michigan to get his first win of the year; he beats out Kevin Harvick and Kurt Busch.
** In MLB action, Atlanta downs Washington 2-1, Miami nips San Francisco 6-5 and Tampa Bay downs Toronto 2-1. The Rays begin a series at Baltimore tonight while Miami hosts the LA Dodgers and the Braves are off.
** Miguel Cabrera hit his 40th homer to help Detroit down Kansas City 6-3 that also gives starting pitcher Max Scherzer his 18th win; he’s 18-3 on the year. And former Gator Kevin Chapman gets his first big league save as Houston downs the LA Angels 7-5; he had blown his first save opportunity.
