By on August 27th, 2013

Former Gator outfielder Matt den Dekker was called up to the Major Leagues by the New York Mets. He’ll be in uniform tonight against the Philadelphia Phillies.

den Dekker had been playing for the Las Vegas 51’s, where he batted .296 in 53 games, but is on a hot streak recently.  In the past 10 games, den Dekker is hitting .368 with four multi-hit appearances.

The center fielder is the fifth player under Florida Head Coach Kevin O’Sullivan to reach the majors.
