The fifth ranked Florida Gator volleyball team is home for the weekend as they host the third annual Active Ankle Challenge. The Gators will look to build off of their 1-1 trip to Austin last weekend, where they defeated then second ranked Stanford before suffering a tough loss to top ranked Penn State. Senior middle blocker Chloe Mann reflected on the trip, believing it will help Florida down the road.
The schedule for this weekend has Florida taking on Georgetown Friday, before facing Western Michigan and Iona Saturday. Gator coach Mary Wise spoke about how her Gators have prepared for having to face three unfamiliar teams in two days.
Friday’s game figures to be a special one for senior setter Taylor Brauneis. Georgetown’s setter is quite a familiar face for Taylor, as it is her sister Caitlin. Coach Wise said having two siblings compete against each other is something she has never seen in her time at Florida.
First serve Friday is set for 7 p.m.
