Florida Gators quarterback Jeff Driskel will undergo surgery Wednesday to repair a broken right fibula, head coach Will Muschamp said Monday.
Driskel broke his leg in the first quarter of Florida’s 31-17 trampling of the Tennessee Volunteers in Gainesville, Fla. Saturday.
According to Muschamp, doctors will insert a metal plate in the quarterback’s leg. and the recovery is expected to take four to six months.
Driskel went 12-3 as a starter for the Gators.
