The Hunt for October is intensifying as the end of the MLB season is wrapping up. The divisions are all locked in the AL with Boston winning the East, Detroit in the Central, and Oakland in the West.
Although the divisions have been clinched, there are still a few teams fighting for the final wild card spots in each respective league. Over in the American League, the Tampa Bay Rays have a one game lead over the Cleveland Indians and a two game lead over the Texas Rangers. Cleveland finishes its season on the road in Minnesota while the Rangers will host the LA Angels. The Rays finish in Toronto.
Meanwhile in the National league, the Braves clinched the East, St Louis clinched at least a tie for the NL Central and the LA Dodgers win the NL West. Pittsburgh and Cincinnati are the wild card teams at this point but the Pirates could tie the Cardinals with a sweep of Cincinnati this weekend and if the Cardinals lose all their games at home against the Chicago Cubs.
The National League wild card starts next Tuesday, October 1st and the AL is followed on Wednesday, October 2nd.
